What is the Red Baron Award?
The Red Baron Award is what I call my best of show award. Byron Burleson was a great friend to me and the car hobby. He and his wife Mary Ann always brought their beautiful truck to every benefit car show or cruise in. Byron was affectionatly known as "The Red Baron" as was his truck also. Byron was killed in a tragic automobile accident in June of 2005. After his death Mary Ann gave me all of the trophies that Byron had won over the years. Every show or cruise in that I have I take one of the trophies that Byron won, have the plaque changed to read "The Red Baron Award- Best of Show". The Red Baron Award is given in his memory and his honor. He is greatly missed.
