I get questioned a lot about the inspection law in North Carolina on older vehicles. So for everyones convenience, here it is,
Subject: Senate Bill 1083
"On July 16, 2004, the North Carolina Legislature passed Senate bill 1083. Effective October 1, 2004, any motor vehicle registered in the State of North Carolina that is at least thirty-five (35) years old measured from the date of manufacture, shall not be subject to an annual safety inspection. Such vehicles do not have to bear an "Antique" or "Horseless Carriage" plate to meet the exemption requirements.
